The project aims to publish the correspondence of Johann Heinrich Christian Bang with Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm as well es Friedrich Carl von Savigny. The latter being a key figure of a circle of Marburg based poets, thinkers, academic teachers and students that can be seen as founders of a ‘Marburger Romantik’ and innovators of their fields.

The letters contribute to the understanding of their biographies and the development of ideas and origins of their work.
